This farm has been breeding Ayam Cemani since 2019. We breed to the American standard of protection. This is a very high cull rate breed. If any breeder states they do not get culls, they are not being truthful. Cull points we see, occasionally a white pad on a toe tip and feathers on their shanks. We do not breed pullets, we do not find those chicks as hardy and only wish to reproduce strong hardy birds.
Special Considerations: Ayam Cemani hens are not prolific layers. They typically lay cream-colored eggs, despite their dark appearance. Provide a balanced diet with high-quality poultry feed. Breeding Ayam Cemani chickens requires a deep understanding of genetics, careful planning, and a commitment to maintaining the integrity of this unique breed.
Cold & Heat Hardiness: While they are relatively hardy, ensure they have protection from extreme weather. In colder climates, provide extra bedding and ensure the coop is warm. In hot climates, ensure they have plenty of shade and fresh water.
